Description:
In girdle view, the apical bosses are produced well above the level of the rest of the valve surface, and may be two
or three times as high as the section immediately next to it. Length 84-90 µm (Hendey, 1970).
Dimensions:
Cells length 51-65 µm; width 38-46 µm.
Distribution:
Benthic littoral form.
Sites of occurrence in RSA:
This species was encountered at two sites (refer sites map) and in small numbers. It has been previously reported
from the inner RSA (Simonsen, 1974) and from Kuwaiti shore (Hendey, 1970).
